Near The Ritz-Carlton Washington, D.C. & Downtown D.C.:

Rasika West End, 1190 New Hampshire Avenue NW, (202-637-1222). Asian, Indian, small plates, casual elegant.

Chef Geoff’s West End, 2201 M St NW, (202-524-7815). Welcoming, versatile menu; excellent for larger groups.

Founding Farmers (Foggy Bottom), 1924 Pennsylvania Ave NW, (202-822-8783). Reliable American with local ingredients.

Call Your Mother Deli, 1143 New Hampshire Ave NW, (202-773-0871). Beloved bagel shop and deli known for its creative, high-quality breakfast and lunch items.

Old Ebbitt Grill, 15^th Street, NW, (202-347-4800). A casual, moderately priced setting.

The Occidental, 1475 Pennsylvania Ave NW, (202-241-8000). Local landmark for high-end American meals served in a posh space.

Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak, and Stone Crab, 750 15th St NW, (202-489-0140). Does not open until after 4:00pm.

Central Michel Richard, 1001 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW (202-626-0015). American cuisine, both modern and classic, with a French accent.

The Capital Grille, 601 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, (202-737-6200). Elegant setting serving a variety of entrees including lobster and steaks.

Zaytinya, 701 9th St NW, (202-638-0800). Small Mediterranean dishes from José Andrés; lively atmosphere.

Blue Duck Tavern, 1201 24^th Street, NW, (202-419-6755). Serving simple, innovative food with an artisan approach.

Soi 28 , 2101 L Street, NW, (202-558-9215). Dishes are both rustic and creative, presenting innovative takes on widely popular Thai street fare.

Bourbon Steak, Washington DC , 2800 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, (202-342-0444). Offering the best steak, seafood, and wine selection in the district—plus a one-of-a-kind whiskey and cocktail experience

La Chaumiere, 2813 M St NW, (202-524-7815). A French tradition in Georgetown.

Near Capitol Hill:

The Monocle, 107 D Street, NE (202-546-4488). The menu offers everything from burgers to steaks to fish, all top-quality.

Good Stuff Eatery, 303 Pennsylvania Ave SE (202-543-8222). Gourmet burgers and milkshakes in a casual environment.

Bullfeathers, 410 First St SE (202-484-0228). Casual DC institution, named for a popular euphemism of Teddy Roosevelt’s, serving beer and pub food.

Hawk ‘n’ Dove, 329 Pennsylvania Ave SE (202-547-0030). Long-time Hill pub with approachable American fare.
